As we begin Semester 2, Bamboo Telegraph are opening up applications for Staff Writers and Graphic Designers on the 22nd of January, with application instructions being posted on the Daily Announcements.
For those interested in journalism, this would be a great opportunity, as “Bamboo Telegraph is ISM’s highschool online publication”, as mentioned on the website.
Bamboo Telegraph has five distinct sections open for applications: news, features, student life, opinion and graphic designers.Staff writers for the news section are in charge of writing about upcoming events in a brief and journalistic manner. On the other hand, student life writers would write about trends in ISM that they feel should be explored. Feature writers can explore and go further in depth about topics that are seen in ISM or in the rest of the world. An opinion article would be based on the writer’s opinion about a topic that interests them. As for the graphic designers, they are responsible for producing visual work that can be matched with an article by a Staff Writer.
