Course selection for the 2025-2026 school year is officially underway! Students in grades 9,10, and 11 have the opportunity to create their schedules and choose classes and electives they are interested in. The course selection link, sent out by Ms. Thompson went live on Monday, February 17, and the form will close on Friday, February 21, at 4:00 PM, giving students plenty of time to consider their options.

To ensure everyone is well-prepared, Wednesday’s Advisory session will be dedicated to course selection. Advisors will guide students through the process, answer questions, and provide any necessary information. The Course Offerings Guide is also available, and it contains detailed descriptions, recommended pathways, and policies for all courses.

With so many choices available, deciding which courses to take can be overwhelming. Ms. Thompson encourages students to check if she’s free during tutorials in the HSO or reach out via email if they have any questions. Her biggest piece of advice is to “consider your skills and ability. You want to be challenged but not overwhelmed.” Leena, a current ISM Senior, also suggests that students “not sign up for more than you can handle.” Kristian, the president of Peer Counselling, encourages students to follow their passions, saying, “Classes will seem ‘easy’ when you pick something you’re truly interested in because you’ll find the motivation to pull through.”

All students must complete their selections by Friday at 4:00 PM. Course selection isn’t just about filling a schedule–it’s about shaping a year that interests and challenges you. Whether taking your first IB classes, diving into new electives, or continuing a steady path, now is the time to take control of your learning. Your future is in your hands!
