The humid air that has pervaded Manila for many years has finally been embraced by a slight chill. Inspired by Bon Iver, Vance Joy decided to put a hold on his law career in order to pursue music. We’re glad he did as he was able to release Riptide a folk-pop song in his EP, God Love You When You’re Dancing. With an evident guitar presence throughout the entire song, it’s a tune that will surely put you in a calm and relaxed mood.

2. Let Her Go by Passenger
Towards the end of 2013, Let Her Go became number 1 in 16 countries around Europe. Soon after, the song gained international status, currently obtaining 187 million views on Youtube. With piano and guitar infused melodies, this sweet song was written for everyone to enjoy, no matter the taste in music.

3. Say Something (cover) by Kurt Hugo Schneider, Max Schneider and Victoria Justice
This piano ballad tugs at the heartstrings with its meaningful lyrics and powerful melodies. Simply to listen to this song with your eyes closed will surely bring a warmth much needed in this weather. Originally sung by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera, this cover of Say Something is lighter, only with the xylophone to accompany the vocals.
