ISM hosted Pre-International Association of South Asian Schools (Pre-IASAS) volleyball tournaments between International School Bangkok (ISB), Taipei American School (TAS), and Colegio San Agustin (CSA), with Bearcats playing four matches across the three schools.
Pre-IASAS serves as the stepping stone for many athletes seeking to be a part of IASAS later on in the school year, while simultaneously acting as a “warm up” before an extensive competitive season.
Here at ISM, our teams have been using their time wisely.
In an interview, Matilda, one of our 9th grade volleyball players, expressed how her team prepared quickly and ensured that they were productive with their sessions.
“A lot of it was obviously physical. I think our trainings were more skill focused than they usually are,” she said, showing how much team members truly care about putting their best foot forward in all their games.
In the end, our girls’ volleyball team got 2nd place, and the boys got 3rd out of the four schools that were able to compete. Winning their first matches really gave them the motivation to keep going and try their best.
