This week, ISM hosted an exciting and informative Career Week. Accomplished ISM parents, alumni, and professionals visited campus to share their professional experiences and insights to aid students with their upcoming course selections. Mr. Swan remarked, “Career Week is a big opportunity for our students to better understand future classes because a big part is also about course selection timelines and information.”
Students were given the opportunity to hear firsthand from successful adults in a variety of fields, gaining valuable knowledge about different careers and the paths that led them to success. “Career Week was pretty nice. I met some really cool ISM alumni, and I think it was really inspiring for me,” said Derya, an ISM sophomore.
The event also provided an incredible opportunity for students to learn about the many career options available to them after high school. Tenth-grader, Jacob was excited about his ability to learn more about a field he was interested in, saying, “I was able to talk to a lot of people who were into medicine because I’m also into that field, so it was great to hear about their journeys and stories.”
With course selection just around the corner on the week of February 17 to 21, this event was a crucial opportunity for students to gain valuable guidance and advice. Not only did it give everyone ideas about what they wanted to do, but it taught everyone that you never know what you’re going to do until you get there.
