The long awaited ICARE assignments were released last Friday. ICARE is an experience that will happen from the 11th-15th of December. The aim of this initiative is for all high school students to positively impact their communities and understand more about Filipino culture. In order to achieve this, a few logistics must be followed to allow a memorable experience.
As most people may already know, in the coming weeks all ICARE sites are going to be having mandatory meetings starting from Monday, October 9th. These homeroom meetings are to take place during the usual advisory time period from 2:30 to 3:00pm.
However, if by any chance there are concerns about the assigned site, students have the opportunity to request for a change between October 2nd to 5th. Make sure there is a valid reason as per why the current assignment is unsuitable. One not knowing anyone in their assigned site and not getting one of their four choices are not suitable reasons to request a change. Rather than sending an email, you must go straight to the CAS office to discuss this matter.
It is vital to keep in mind that the software designed to give assignments assures a diverse group of students from different grade levels, countries, and genders, and was developed by a graduate from last year. According to Ines, a member of the ICARE council, the software operates with “an accuracy of 80%”. It is likely that many people would have gotten a site that they didn’t sign up for as a result of some activities being overly popular.
If there are any questions, feel free to visit the ICARE website.
