When times get tough, picking up a good book can help relieve the stress of day-to-day life. This week, from January 20th to 24th, the Book Club council would like to appreciate the impact books have on our learning, development, and imagination.

Starting Monday, there will be a Fully Booked pop-up here at ISM outside the high school, middle school, and elementary school libraries. Most items will be given a discount of up to 20%, making it a great time to make a worthy purchase.

Book Week events include elementary school students enjoying fun read-a-longs during reading class on Tuesdays. The Academic Bowl club has also collaborated with the Book Club to have a Literary Quiz.  And on Friday, all students are welcome to come to school as their favorite literary character and have fun dressing up!

“I think for me, Book Week is an opportunity for us as a community of busy High School students to remind ourselves of the joy of reading and how fun it can be. Reading is a wonderful pastime and it can ground us into remembering that there is more to life than just school and work,” mentions Sophia, the Media Head of the Book Club Council.

Sydney, the president of the Book Club, says, “The preparation for Book Week had a lot of work and time put into it. We coordinated with a lot of different clubs, teachers, and departments. So, I would like to thank all of those who helped us with Book Week: the Early Years Center, Grade 9 Council, Academic Bowl, Ms. Anissa Eglington from ES, and especially the Book Club council, Mr. Sheard, and the HS Library.”
