Art: “The various branches of creative activity, such as painting, music, literature, and dance.” Whether you’re on stage, off stage, an artist, or a viewer, it’s always fun to be a part of art. Lucky for us, the fine arts department will be giving everybody a live sneak peek of this year’s IASAS Cultural Convention! These will range from speech and debate to dance, drama, and tech.
Beginning Monday next week, everyone will get the chance to see a small segment of each preview during a High School assembly from 2:30 to 3:00 PM. On Tuesday, IASAS music will perform in the AMR at 5:00 PM. If you are unable to attend, there will be a repeat performance on Wednesday at the same time and in the same location. The forensics and debate presentations will also occur on Wednesday in the Little Theatre at 3:00 PM. On Thursday and the following Monday, our outstanding Dance, Drama, and Tech groups will perform together starting at 3:15 PM in the FAT.
If you’re more interested in the production side of art, on Saturday, February 15th at 4:00 PM the Film Club will be hosting the Manila Student Film Festival here at ISM. This event will consist of a Q&A with esteemed Filipino filmmakers, as well as a viewing of the different student-produced films. This event is entirely free and a great way to meet like-minded individuals. Make sure to drop by and enjoy these shows to support our IASAS Cultural Convention and film-making bearcats!
