While most ISM students have been scrambling to study for the persistent waves of exams, a few of our most talented Bearcats await with bated breath. Having a fun performing arts class in one’s school schedule can be a much-needed breather from the stress of academics throughout taxing weeks. Moreover, these classes can be a great way to make friends from other grades who share similar passions, meet enthusiastic teachers and mentors, and, most importantly, enhance one’s high school experience.
ISM provides a variety of music and dance electives for students of all levels; however, students with a solid foundation in these areas can audition for advanced classes, which include Orchestra, Show Choir, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Advanced Dance, and Dance Company.
Auditions will take place on March 24, 25, and 26 in their respective locations: Show Choir with Ms. Provencher (provenchera@ismanila.org) in Room 1115; Orchestra with Mr. Joya (joyaj@ismanila.org) in Room 1114; Symphonic & Jazz Band with Mr. Naz (nazarenot@ismanila.org) in Room 1128; Advanced Dance & Dance Company with Ms. Yek (barlongayye@ismanila.org) in the HS Dance Room 3050. Requirements for auditions vary from class to class, so students can refer to the Daily Announcements for more information or reach out directly to the teacher. Good luck to everybody auditioning, and don’t forget to sign up!
