Next week is Career Week, which is an opportunity for grade 9 and 10 students to learn about different possibilities for future careers. Over the course of the week, teachers will be dedicating time to discuss different career options in different fields whilst also sharing their experiences with students.

A few weeks ago, grade 9 and 10 students took different questionnaires regarding their personalities: the VIA strengths report for grade 9 and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator for grade 10. Grade 10 students have already discussed the results within advisory and “received recommendations for career exploration tailored to their personality”, as stated by Mr. Paulson, who is one of the two grade 9 and 10 counselors. In the next advisory session, grade 9 students will be exploring and connecting career options to their results from the strength report in a similar manner to what the grade 10 students did.

Alongside these sessions with teachers and questionnaires, there will be a whole school assembly on Wednesday organized by Mr. Swan, the HS counseling program leader, regarding career week with speakers to help students get a better understanding of career related topics and concerns.

Career week is a great opportunity for one to broaden their understanding of career choices and opportunities for the future. If there are any concerns about anything that will be happening next week, reach out to advisors or any teacher or counselor.
