The ISM music department is launching this year’s Alls Concert series, Rooted & Rising, with three separate performances in the Fine Arts Theater, all at 5:30 p.m. The choir opened the series on November 13, followed by strings on November 19, and the band is soon to come on November 25.

Each show highlights a different division of the music program while celebrating a shared theme of growth, connection, and community.

All the performances also connect the music departments throughout the whole school, including elementary and middle school. ES, MS, and HS worked hard together to produce this special and enjoyable concert through extensive dedication and rehearsal.

Ms. Provencher, the choir teacher for middle school and high school, reflected on the choir concert last Thursday, saying, “I was proud of every single group, every single choir on stage, individual and combined choirs, because the performance on Thursday was the best that they had performed each piece.”

The theme, Rooted & Rising, is about building community, as shown clearly in the choir and strings concert so far. What makes this concert series so special is that older students can inspire younger students, while older students can look back at the younger ones and remember how far they have come.

Senna, a freshman who will perform in the band concert, says, “I hope the audience can listen and appreciate the music with us, and really be in the moment.”

Overall, the concert series has been a great success, and the band concert next week is something to look forward to. As Ms. Provencher further states, “Music unites us, whether we’re performing it or in the room where it happens.”
