On Saturday, February 7th, from 5 PM to 8 PM, the ISM’s Annual International Food Festival took place on the ES field, celebrating and recognizing the diverse cultures represented by the ISM community. Students, families, and faculty were all invited to participate in the festival. Dozens of stalls were set up on the field, adorned with traditional decorations and filled with food and drinks from their respective countries and/or regions.
This year, there were over 20 stalls, each representing countries and regions from the Philippines to Central America. The South Africa stall tried something new, paying homage to its tribes with a face-painting stall that mimicked their art.
Tanya, who attended the festival, shared her favourite experience and thoughts about the festival as a whole. “[T]he food stalls were great, and I felt like they had a pretty accurate representation of the cultures, especially since the food itself was very high quality. And my favourite part had to be sitting down, enjoying the diverse selection of food on my plate, and having fun with my friends.”
The International Food Festival was an experience that brought dozens of people together from different cultures with traditional meals, drinks, and even activities. It was a culturally enriching event that everyone involved enjoyed.
