The International Thespian Society (ITS) hosted Improv Night in the AMR on March 6th, at 3:30 pm. Improv Night is an event that celebrates ISM’s actors’ improvisation talents by performing scenes based on the audience’s ideas. There are 10 main actors on stage, ranging from freshmen to seniors.

Individual tickets cost 300 PHP, while picnic bundles for four people cost 1000 PHP. Hayk (12), a member of ITS and a performer at improv night, described it as watching a sporting event, with two teams competing on stage for the audience to root for.

Hayk also shared what would happen on the actual night. “One cool thing about Improv Night is that it’s much more intimate and interactive for the audience than any other theatrical show that goes on at ISM. . . On top of that, every single game we play is based on audience suggestions, and some of our games even involve some [voluntary] audience participation.”

Improv night is a unique show for an audience that isn’t seen often. Everything is unscripted, so none of the cast members can anticipate what will happen. It’s a great way to end a Friday evening, with a good laugh with friends and cheering for classmates.
